Synopsis | EN | Racetrack Służewiec in Warsaw has a spacious backstage – invisible for Varsovians “racing town”. In the times of the Polish People’s Republic it was a state-owned company. Today the ghetto-like community is still living here. Since the transformation 89’, the horse racing is in a permanent organizational and financial crisis in Poland. Regardless of this, the rhythm of everyday and annual life is determined here by the training of horses. The document allows to enter social worlds in two stables. At the macro level film depicts the history of Racetrack Służewiec and the current state of this interwar modernistic estate. The Author of this film – Barbara Bossak-Herbst is a lecturer at the Institute of Sociology University of Warsaw. Her interests includes: urban studies, visual culture and multispecies relations.
